Just got back from MacWorld Live expo at Olympia, London and to be honest I found it uninspiring and mostly dull. google and Adobe were very noticeable by their absence, and there was hardly any mention of the iPhone, I would have thought Apple would have a virtual store at a show of this magnitude. O2 did have a tiny area with just a couple of banners about mobile data and a leaflet lady but no mention of the iPhone, you’d have thought this would have been ideal pre-order event and chance to show it off?
Last year I thought there were too many iPod add-on vendors, but this year there hardly any. Mac Format magazine put on some cracking seminars as did the folks from VMware and Quark (you can just spot Trevor Middleton from Mac Format to the left of the pic above, I’m envious of his follicles !!) and big guns such as elgatto and Computer Warehouse were reeling in the green so not all bad news. Didn’t spot anyone famous except for Mark Cheslack from BBC Click who was doing some pieces to camera at the VMware stand.
Luckily I get free admission to events like these but if I had to pay £15 for my ticket I’d have possibly felt a little disappointed…
