Why Windows PCs get infected by Spyware and Trojans…

I spend a fair amount of my personal free time these days cleaning up Windows PCs for friends and family  that run absurdly slow often because various spyware programs have been accidently loaded.  It’s very easy to wave a finger and ‘blame the dumb user’ yet often the user has been duped by an unscrupulous vendor.

Zango are a case in point. If you study the software installation notice above pressing cancel actually installs their software!  I doubt Zango actually capture your credit card numbers and sends them off to Russia/ the Far East but they do install an invasive toolbar that helps slow your PC down.

It seems sad in these days when honest High Street retailers are going to the wall that arse-wipes  can get away with similarly dubious techniques.
